Good Monday Morning.
The sky is blue-gray, with traces of pink. I had a good nights sleep, and I’m ready for a new week.
I’ve been thinking about gratitude and giving back. Both are action words. Without alcohol and drugs in my system, I’m somewhat anxious when facing social events and people. You might not know this, because rather than give in to my anxiety, I simply acknowledge it and go about my day. Before each interview, or show, or lecture, I go through a period of being uncomfortable. The kindest thing I can do for myself during this time, is to stay out of my head and have faith in the God, that has had such faith in me. When we limit our lives with ‘no’ – we limit our Higher Power’s ability – to work within our life. We also limit our ability to give back and to grow. Gratitude isn’t just about the things that are easy, real gratitude says ‘thank you’ for everything, the good, the bad and the uncomfortable.
As we head into this week, I would like to say thank you for my recovery, thank you for my anxiety, thank you to my Higher Power, and most of all, thank you to you, the folks who ride this crazy roller-coaster of life, along with me.
