I have been interested in, and have read many books on psychology since I was in my early twenty’s (and that’s a long time ago) I’ve read ‘the blue book’ on addictions, and studied the 12 step program. If I had read this book early on it would have save me a lot of grief- Hats off to an inspired writer and a courageous woman. This author has laid out the black and blue of addictions –and the fact that there is another choice.
Alcoholism and drug abuse is slippery slope, leading to a deep dark abyss. And Lorelie’s heroine slid down every single slope she could find, and then some. This book is not easy to read, and yet it’s not at all easy to put down. What the author does beautifully for us, is lay out the family structure, or lack of, that brought the heroine, Lindsey, to the total destruction that her life became. You feel every emotion that Lindsey goes through, every wrong turn and every dark thought with an intensity that is hard to describe-you truly become invested in her, her thought process and her pain.
If you are dealing with, or have ever dealt with an alcoholic or someone that is taking drugs to an extreme you will see the impulsiveness and justifications that you hear from them mirrored and laid bare in this book- It makes you think- That is what it is intended to do!
Simply said, I love this book! I was enchanted and disturbed, saddened and delighted, entertained and yet uneasy with grief for those who have no guidance, no knowledge that there is another way. The authors’ writing style brings forth readable prose and believable dialogue. Obviously I am looking forward to reading her next book.
To my viewers/followers. I wrote this book to reveal the truth of addiction. It’s not pretty, or glamorous, or cool. It’s downright tragic. If you really can’t afford 99 cents, I’ll buy this e book for you. There were many people out there who helped me find my way back, through those dark and twisted days. If I can be of service to you, it would be an honor.
Sincerely, Lorelie Rozzano.
