teddy

A baby girl, a baby boy
Our Daddy’s voice, a squishy toy
Daddy leaves to go to work,
He meets another, what a jerk
Days pass, so do weeks,
The children cry, their Mommy seeks
But nowhere, can our Daddy be found
Even though he promised, he would stay around
Why do Daddy’s go away?
When they have children, shouldn’t they stay?
We used to cry, but we’re over that
Now we’re mad, our Daddy is bad
He doesn’t call, he doesn’t write
For his children, he doesn’t fight
He just…. went away, I guess he doesn’t care
I wish I could tell him, he broke my heart, but I wouldn’t dare
I’ll pretend, growing harder, by the day
Maybe it really doesn’t matter,
who needs a Daddy, anyway?
